This workshop will be run by KM and sense making pioneer Dave Snowden.

The workshop will involve three single day courses that, taken as a whole provideaccreditation to, and permit membership of, the Cognitive Edge Network.Participants will gain an understanding of the principles and practiceof naturalising sensemaking to organisational issues. If you want todiscover pragmatic ways to manage under conditions of uncertainty,understand the power of business narrative and discover new ways to usehuman networks then this course will equip you with the core theory& associated methods.

Cognitive Edge is creating an approach to management & socialscience by applying insights and understanding from the naturalsciences, in particular complex adaptive systems theory, the cognitivesciences and a range of techniques from disciplines such asanthropology.

While offering a range of novel, science based methods, the approachincludes the principle of bounded applicability. Different tools andtechniques work within different contexts, no one approach can claimuniversal applicability. Methods taught on the course are fullysupported by open source methods and attendance qualifies participantsto use theSenseMaker™ software suite on projects.
