David Gurteen event in Wellington - Collaboration with LIANZA and RMAA

Hi all,

Paddy Plunket from Parliamentary services and I have had a chat about the potential David Gurteen event on 24 September.

David Gurteen has agreed to present to a group of Wellington knowledge managers and information managers on the topic of knowledge networks for professional groups.
Moira Fraser from the Parliamentary Library organised this, and has handed it to the local LIANZA committee to organise.

They would like this to be a collaborative event for NZKM, LIANZA and RMAA members.

Given the type of venue David requires for a full knowledge cafe, the event cost (including some drinks & nibbles) will be about $3,000. By charging $25 for members, and $40 for non-members they're likely to be able to get to about $1500-$2000.

They'd like us to commit to covering part of the shortfall, in the order of $300-$500. I think this would be worthwhile as it'd be a great event based on my prior experience of David's methods and presentation style.

It'd be good if we could agree on this via email, rather than waiting till our meeting on 27th.

What do people think? Any dissenters?

Julian
